Constructing Beginning Balances
|
|
Whether you have decided to branch out and take on clients or whether you have decided your business finally needs good information for you to make good decisions, constructing beginning balances is essential. In this half day workshop, the individual will learn how to set up the Chart of Accounts, where beginning balances come from and how to enter them into the accounting system. The individual will learn how to correct prior period entries that affect beginning balances. A discussion of bank products such as Money Market Accounts, Zero Balance Accounts, and Sweep Accounts will also be included. |

Construction Accounting

This two day workshop will take the individual through Completed Contract, Percent Complete and Job Costing. The individual will learn how to set up jobs, clients, vendors and subcontractors. The course will also teach how to segment jobs by using Job Phases and Cost Codes and the major Cost Types; how to use Cost Codes with Workers’ Compensation Codes to keep costs in line; how to calculate and charge Overhead costs to jobs. |

Fixed Assets and Depreciation

In this half day seminar, the individual will understand what differentiates a fixed asset from any other asset type. The importance of correct set up and tracking of fixed assets will be presented along with various depreciation methods. The individual will also gain a solid understanding of keeping monthly records and factors affecting depreciation. |

Payroll Essentials

This one day seminar will introduce the individual to payroll set up and management, including differentiating between employees and independent contractors; Forms W-4/W-2/W-3, W-9/1099, I-9; Federal 941 and FUTA 940 tax reporting and payment; Monthly or semi-weekly deposits; EFTPS enrollment; State tax set up and payment of Utah withholding and multi-state payrolls; State Unemployment; New Hire Reporting; SSA monitoring; Workers’ Compensation; Union and benefit set up; Direct Deposit and the new “Debit Card” system. The local chapter of the American Payroll Association, along with membership information, will be presented. |
